Curses from sexual immorality are the strongest curses to break.

Curses from sexual immorality are the strongest curses to break. They can take weeks to break during the deliverance of a victim. That is why the Bible says that God is not too worried about sins outside the body as He is worried about sins in the body, Fornication and adultery.

Understanding the true nature of your identity as a believer provides boundaries that promote sexual purity and expose sexual immorality and speak with power to the realities of sexual struggle.

A believer must not let himself be mastered by anything other than Christ, and realize that sex can be a life-dominating master. Do not let yourself live for just the sex moment, and realize that sex creates a narrow focus on present pleasure with little awareness of the future. Do not allow yourself to function in independence, and realize that sex draws you to meditate on what you want and 'need.' Sex is often about power, control, ownership, and entitlement. Don’t allow yourself to function from a position of ownership.

Sexuality is a key revealer of your heart (Eph. 5:3-7). In the Sermon on the Mount, Christ declares sexuality to be an issue of the heart, 'Whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart' (Matt. 5:28). It is not enough to say, 'Because you have not physically committed adultery, therefore you are pure,' for lust itself breaks the command against committing adultery.

Scripture states it very plainly in Ephesians 5:5: the sexually immoral person is an idolater. Sex always involves the thoughts, motives, desires, demands, expectations, treasures, or idols of the heart. When you deal with sexual sin, it is not enough to simply avoid committing acts of physical immorality. It’s shutting down the evil spirit that pulls you. Using spiritual weapons to defeat the temptations, the battle is one with your first Victory. Start with one success at a time and Journal on a calendar each Victory or each defeat you experience.

It is when you are confronted with your utter inability to meet the demands of God's standard that you are also confronted with the reality and majesty of His grace. 'Where sin increased, grace increased all the more' (Romans 5:20). In this way, your sexuality reveals your profound need for the inner power and desire to obey God that comes only from God. God calls you to sexual purity.

It is vital that you as a believer connect your sexual struggles to gospel themes that will work in your life. For in sexual Immorality the truth of God has been exchanged for a lie. The worship and service of the Creator has been exchanged for the worship and service of created things. By exposing idolatry and self-love that is at the heart of sexual sin, the need for Christ will be clearly demonstrated.
