You’ll endure affliction so don’t give up

Affliction: - A condition or cause of pain, suffering, or distress. Psalm 34:19 know that there are going to be in your life some distress, sufferings, unhappiness, pain, disappointments, hurt feelings, loneliness, and many other problems BUT THE LORD WILL DELIVER YOU OUT OF THEM ALL.

Now patience powerfully proves your eternal life, it causes you to be able to bear trouble, suffer and endure affliction for a long time and remaining faithful. Patience is not arguing with the Lord, backsliding from the Lord, blaming the Lord or others, finding fault with God or complaining about your situation, quitting your spiritual duties, leaving the church, envying those not suffering.

You might be facing all kinds of afflictions, it may seem like your perfect and complete life has lost all of its power. Trouble may be facing you on every side and you are at the point you feel that there is no hope. It may seem like you are not going to make it. It may seem like the grass is greener over there, it may seem like God is blessing others and has left you out in the cold. But hold on and endure times of affliction because if you give up now it will affect not only you but generations to come. Tell somebody wait – don’t be so quick to run-a-way generations to come are depending on you to endure affliction.

You might even get to the point that you question God and say this is not what I expected. You might even think of telling God I’m not cut out for this anymore, I am going back to my old ways my old me because this affliction is more than I can bear. But God, wants to lead you to 2 Corinthians 4:17 where Scripture says “For your light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for you far more an eternal weight of glory”. So remember, this time is just temporary.


Know that The Holy Spirit knows your thoughts and if you listen for His voice He has thoughts of goodness and not of evil to bring you. He says: I have seeds that I have placed in you to bring forth; you are royalty in my Kingdom you are going to be effective in leading many souls to glory.

He wants you to know Gods joy is your strength. He wants you to know you can make it, every step you take will give you more strength and with His joy that He provides, you’ll be strengthened to make it another step, each step He will give you more strength and you’ll endure affliction.

REMEMBER: - Do not allow your soul, which is where your emotions, will, and intellect are housed, to wander about without the supervision of your enduring faith. As you persevere in the faith, you’ll endure affliction so don’t give up, keep on believing, hold on to God’s unchanging hand and as you keep the faith, the faith will keep you.
