When you stand before God, what will he remember about you

Will he remember every time you were slack in your commitment to Christ? Will he remember every time you decided that going to church, or studying His Word was just too much trouble; or that you were too tired? Will he remember that other things in life were more important than prayer and getting alone with God? Were the posting of your friends on Facebook more important to you than what God posted in his Word? Was your IPhone, Blackberry, IPod, IPad or any other source of information and communication more important than your relationship with God? Do you have more minutes on your phone bill talking to friends than you have minutes on record in Heaven talking to God? Do you check your email 20 times a day but speak to God only once a week?

You’re living in a time when fast travel, constant communication and unending breaking news stories are a constant distraction. Communication devices and the desire to know more has become a tool of the devil to destroy your very soul unless you get them under control. What’s more important to you – your cell phone carrier or the Bible? It’s not the fault of the phone; it’s the fault of your own heart!

Will God play back all of your text messages, voice messages; or will your record in Heaven contain all the time you spent in prayer and reading of God’s Word? What is God going to remember about you?

Ezekiel 18:24 But when the righteous turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and doeth according to all the abominations that the wicked man doeth, shall he live? All his righteousness that he hath done shall not be mentioned: in his trespass that he hath trespassed, and in his sin that he hath sinned, in them shall he die.

What is God going to remember about you? What will he have recorded about your life when you stand before him in the judgment? Will he remember only your days spent in pursuit of the things of the world? Will he remember that everything else; and everyone else, was more important to you than Him? You do not want this to be the way your record reads!

If you put Jesus first above all else, and live according to the will of God, forsaking those things that would separate you from God, then God will only remember the things that you have done in faith.

Just as much as it will sadden the heart of God to turn away sinners, it will bring gladness to the heart of God for each one of his children that are welcomed home. How much it will please God to say, “Well done and welcome home”. How will all of Heaven shout for joy; and how great will be that celebration when the Bride is finally united forever with the Groom. Don’t you want to be a part of that great celebration!

You can sense the presence of the Lord and you can hear the voice of the Lord speaking, you know that you are at the very door of the coming of the Bridegroom. Keep your lamp trimmed and burning brightly. You are in the midnight hour and at any moment you will hear the cry, “Behold the Bridegroom has come!” Be ready for that instant.

God’s final word to you is, “…Turn yourself in the right direction; turn yourself and live!” God wants you to have that life eternal but you must chose to turn to him in repentance for sin. Turn and humble your heart before him. Turn and face the Cross and let the blood of Jesus be applied to your heart. Turn and make Jesus the most important thing in your life. Turn and live forever!

What will God remember about you? Only you know the answer to that question – you and God!
