You receive communication from God’s heart into your heart.

Because you are unified with God through the Holy Spirit you receive communication from God’s heart into your heart. But the Holy Spirit also witnesses to you; He said: "This is the covenant that I will make with you in those days, says the LORD: I will put My laws into your heart, and in your mind “(Heb 10:15-16)

The Holy Spirit communicates the deep things of God to you. But as it is written: "You had not seen, nor your ear heard, the things which God had prepared for you until you loved Him." But God has revealed them to you through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, the deep things of God. For who knows the things in you except the spirit which is in you? And it is the same with God who knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. You have received the Spirit that is from God, so that you might know the things that have been freely given to you by God. (1Cor 2:9-12)

It is through the Holy Spirit that you have been given the “mind of Christ”. Christ is the head, you are the body, and you receive instruction from Him through the Holy Spirit. But the natural person does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to them; nor can they know them, because they are spiritually discerned." But you have the mind of Christ. (1Cor 2:13-16)

That word “mind” means that you have inside of you Christ thoughts, Christ’s will, and the emotions of Christ. You are not to be guided by your physical mind, which is your thoughts, your will, and your emotions; but you are to be guided by the Holy Spirit who communicates to you the thoughts of God, the will of God, and the emotions of God. There are times when the Holy Spirit communicates to you things that are too deep for human language, but you can sense the emotions of God. You are not to be led by your “feelings”, but you can be led by God’s feelings and His emotions.

Spiritual maturity progresses as you become more Holy Spirit conscious and less self-conscious. For before you lived according to the flesh and set your mind on the things of the flesh, but now live according to the Spirit, set your mind on the things of the Spirit. You are in a process of dying to yourself so that Christ may become manifested in you; the more you die to yourself the more His life is in you. Jesus said, “If you do not take your cross and follow after Me you are not worthy of Me. You’ll find your life when you’ve given up your selfish life for Him, and if you lose your life for His sake you will find it.” (Mat 10:38-39)

Jesus said: the Spirit of truth will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. All things that the Father has are mine. Therefore He will take of mine and declare it to you.” (John 16:12-15)
